How to Activate Themes & Extensions
Learn how to configure your environment variables to activate and download premium themes and extensions directly from the MagicAI Admin Panel.
MagicAI communicates with the marketplace API using dedicated environment tokens defined in your root .env file.
Step-by-Step Configuration
Update Your .env File
Open the .env file in your project root directory and add or update the following token entries:
THEME_API_TOKEN=f3ab4aa43d99d03be691c8xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
EXTENSION_API_TOKEN=2f528f169493e967aa6162xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxActual production API tokens are masked for public viewers. If you have private category access, open this documentation with your private access link to view the full unmasked tokens, or contact support below.
Save Changes & Reload Admin Panel
Save your .env file and reload the MagicAI Admin Dashboard. Navigate to Marketplace → Themes or Marketplace → Extensions.
Ready You can now click Install or Activate on any theme or extension without authorization errors.
Troubleshooting & Permissions
If theme thumbnails, styles, or assets fail to appear after activation, ensure that the public/themes/ directory has appropriate write permissions (0755 or 0777). Refer to our troubleshooting guide on Missing Images After Theme Activation.
